What’s in a name?

Name taghttp://www.ecowomen.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/6517132943_56ed553839_z.jpg

The Vedas address you and me not as men, women, young, old, rich, poor, intelligent, dull, good, bad, beautiful or ugly.

They do not address us as sinners

They address us as “Children of immortality”, amrutasya putrah.

Listen O Children of Immortal Bliss, I have found Him who is beyond all darkness. Through His Mercy alone can we cross this ocean of life

shrunvantu viswe amrutasya putrah | aa ye dhaamaani divyaani tasthuh ||

(Shvetaashvatara Upanishad 2.5)

What a sweet, holy and hope-filled name! Child of immortality!

At death, it is our body that dies. Our conscience does not. It has no birth, no death. It just IS.

This is what you and I are. Immortality itself. Eternal Bliss. Unending Peace. Amrutam itself.

“Wake up, O lions, and shake off the delusion that you are sheep; you are souls immortal, spirits free, blessed and eternal; you are not matter, you are not bodies; matter is your servant, not you the servant of matter.” – Swami Vivekananda
